After A Week of “New” Work…

JULY 11th, 2026

Here’s am update of my 2nd game, Loan Sword$man.

I started over. What originally was a 100% Blueprint project has been replaced with C++. It’s harder to do, sure, but it makes me more employable being able to talk in a language that a wider scope of developers understand. Not that anyone understands C++, but still…

I reworked the character model, giving him more simplistic hands, because the hands I make don’t jive with the skeleton I auto create in the software I use. I assumed it would be better making the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker hands, where you have one free finger and thumb, and the rest of the fingers are a pad. It has been easier for me anyway. It’s supposed to be old school style, so I feel it might work.

Ask for the C++ itself, I re-did the Character, making his movement and interaction with a class that derived from the Character Class, and one from the AnimInstance. The goal is to be modular. He also can interact with the sword I added to pick it up. Once the basics are done, I can hopefully add an inventory system to the mix. And different weapon types (sword, daggers, spear, bow & arrows) as well as enemies that aren’t just re-skins.

I’m hoping this project doesn’t take longer than one year to do. And I hope y’all enjoy what I am making. More to come, and I will update with another blog post next week.

Be sure to follow me on X, where most of my more animated visuals will be. Eventually I’ll move to either discord or the Steam Community page, but X will do for now.

Thanks for rocking with me. Don’t forget to get it and protect it~!
